Despite not listing many flaws in your review, I took your advice and bought the album. WOW. Best album I have listened to so long. The way that each song stands out as individual accomplishments while blending together to make a cohesive album is amazing. The only critisism that I have of the whole album are of the "new territory" songs, as you put it. They each are a little light on the traditional BW guitar work, which give them a more "pop" feel. Overall these songs are still great and I will definitely recommend this album to every music enthusiast I know. Thanks BW!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3773467527023834435.post-20905888405373175782009-04-03T20:13:00.000-04:002009-04-03T20:13:00.000-04:00This is by far my favourite song on the disc, and ...This is by far my favourite song on the disc, and every time i listen to it, a line or a chord reminds me of something. Some past lover, some past day wasted away on a Patio or in a basement drinking and talking with my 'crew'.
While you mentioned some of the lines touch on the transient / mutable nature of the band, I can't help but feel that this is a song about enjoying the moment and revelling in where your "heart is", even if it's just for a split second.

Love reading the blog... and if work didn't have me pulling an 18 hour day on Thursday, i'd SO be at the Phoenix, closing my eyes and inhaling in that very cliche way when Ian started up the opening riff on this tune.

Cheers.CubicleGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06557873017980091409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3773467527023834435.post-11216731758838050392009-03-16T01:21:00.000-04:002009-03-16T01:21:00.000-04:00Love the reviews. I have been listening and listening since I got the CD, wading through the obvious stuff to get to the goods I really want... that sound.. that angst and intelligence I am a fan if Ian for. Love it.

And yes, I have to agree with you about Your Song. Since first listen it has made me think of my daughters. Being a WOMAN through and through, I have tried and tried to hear this as a love/romantic song but I just can't! It's all about my girls in my head... I wish I had written this for them. I have thought these very words, particularly when they are away on weekends at their fathers (which really sucks)(for me). So I agree BUK - I think you're right on this one.

And I also think you've nailed the angle on "chicks" in your post - very funny and not untrue, in my experience. ;-)Nataliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17195550991985204131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3773467527023834435.post-29637313263712551862009-03-07T01:38:00.000-05:002009-03-07T01:38:00.000-05:00i think your completely right, and especially how ...i think your completely right, and especially how most of his more recent fans that were into Come Again for its hard rock full distortion kinda sound, and ill say i was too. I first heard Easy Comes and just loved it with an incredible passion, however its the fans like me that were dissapointed by the new album. I wasnt dissapointed, Tiny Pictures feels more right that any cd ive ever heard, i love the lyrics in "Might Be The End" and in "Your Song", the guitar was a little too soft for me, but the lyrics scored the game winning goal in the end. Its a great albumAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3773467527023834435.post-45357745895465054702009-02-23T20:23:00.000-05:002009-02-23T20:23:00.000-05:00oooo BUK, love that you're still here. What I would like to know is how Jimmy and John Paul got hooked up with him.
